The Academy Is… Back
I loved The Academy Is…’s first album “Almost Here” because of it’s clever lyrics and its catchy pop-punk feel. Their second album “Santi” decided to explore another side of the band, that was darker and sounded like it belonged in the 1960’s. I didn’t like it because it wasn’t the same band I fell in love with. And now they released their third studio album “Fast Times At Barrington High.” They never seem to advertise when their next album is coming out because it seems to just happen. But when I listened to the first song “About A Girl” my faith began to be restored. It seems they have gone back to their pop-punk roots. I think the switching of their record labels might have influenced the changes in their sound, but I’m happy where they are going now. I don’t know if the album is as good as their first because it’s hard to compete with their first outing. It was surprising to see today that their album is in the top 10 albums on iTunes. I didn’t know that their album would sell that well, but I’m happy for them. Please don’t go back to your sophomore slump sound.

They’d pretty much been advertising FTABH on there myspace, for iunno?
2 or 3 months now?
But I agree, Santi was no where near as good as Almost Here, and FTABH is definalty better.

I think santi was no where near as good as FTABH or Almost Here. Santi has a very different sound compared to the others.
